Review: I had a really bad experience with this firm. I wish I’d looked on here and seen all the other 1-star reviews. I instructed Bentley’s for a conveyancing in 2015. They evidently didn’t even do basic searches. When I moved in to the property, I found out that there had been a planning application for four 4-bedroom houses right next to my property which would be overlooking my flat and garden - and meant that it would no longer be an end of terrace. Luckily for me, the council had rejected the application, and I could then object to the appeal, but it is truly appalling that a conveyancing solicitor wouldn’t do basic searches to find out if there’s been any planning applications on the neighbouring land. I wish I had reported them at the time, as I now know it’s negligent and a breach of the solicitors code of conduct. It’s now years later and I’ve spent two weeks trying to get the deeds from them, which apparently they should have sent me at the time of purchase but didn’t. They’re rude on the phone and keep telling me they will call me back and then don’t. They’re also saying that they can’t send documents with registered post. I’ve honestly never heard of a firm of solicitors that wouldn’t send documents in a safe manner. I would really not recommend them at all.
