Review: Having employed the services of one of the partners at a rate of £200.00 per hour I was expecting the service to be professional, but nothing could be further from the truth. They failed to obtain valuations for all of the estate. The parts they did value were guessed at. Invented new versions of the law and only came close to getting it right after I had paid for another solicitor to explain it to them. Refused to distribute the estate in accordance with the will and expected me to accept less than I was entitled to or they would not settle it. Had no idea that they had a duty of care to both the estate and the beneficiaries and refused to accept any responsibility for the costs and losses incurred while they were acting as executors. Took over a month to respond to correspondence. Completely ignored my own instruction but were happy to take instruction from someone who was neither their direct client or had any legal right to be involved in the matter. Transferred ownership of a property without my written consent. Managed to take over two years to settle an estate that should have taken four to six months. Sent needless letters asking for explanation of basic English or sent letters days apart contradicting each other. Refused to deal with any complaints about their own conduct but sent them regarding the conduct of their clients. Having finally settled the estate took a month to post the final accounts and took payment for their appalling service without my consent.
