Review: Woeful Service! I appointed Thorne Segar in Minehead on the 3rd March 2018 to handle the simple sale of a holiday lodge I owned. No chain involved, 1 seller, 1 buyer. They told me it would take 8-10 weeks, but then added to this there was a further unexpected delay of 5 weeks (Not their fault). In total however, it took them 38 weeks to complete! The whole process was a somewhat tortuous affair littered with deceit, incompetence, and tardiness on the part of the individuals involved. The communication from them was lamentable, and despite platitudes to the contrary they showed little concern or urgency in completing the sale. The service picked up towards the end of the process, after my repeated complaints, but even at the end they couldn’t send cheques to the right people! If you had presented my experiences of this company as a sketch for a farce, it would have been rejected as too unbelievable. I own a number of properties, and I have been selling and buying houses for the last 20 years. This is by far the worst solicitor’s firm I have ever dealt with, and on the basis of my experience I would recommend you avoid them at all costs.
