Review: The worst Conveyancing solicitor ever, 5 month to complete, no communications what so ever, incompetent firm, simply awful and to top it all, had to pay more than what I was advised by Home Legal Direct.

Review: Absolutely awful service. Please avoid at all costs. See all other reviews on Yell and reviewsolicitors. I'd suggest taking the overly positive reviews with healthy skepticism.

Review: This is the worse company in the country. I would not even give them 1 star. They continuously never answer emails all phone calls. They have delayed a whole chain of people from moving. Their customer service is shocking ( when you actually get through ) I have no idea how they are still in business and they should be ashamed of themselves to even call themselves a professional business. I'm glad i can write a review for them on here. Some pages they have disabled reviews on, maybe because they are all that bad. SHOCKING.

Review: This is the worst firm I have ever used for conveyancing. I went through a broker Home Legal Direct who arranged for Watkins and Gunn to act on my behalf (as a buyer). Watkins and Gunn to date have done nothing other than take my money – the only time (on day 1) when they did act promptly. They never respond to any emails (apart from one response to an email entitled "Complaint"). Their automated email comes back each time you send an email, claiming they will reply by the end of the next working day but they never do. It is hard to get them on the phone - expect to wait at least 10 minutes listening to a pre-recorded message about how good their firm is and how they are so highly rated - what a total joke!! When I do get them (and often you get a message saying no one is free and leave a voicemail - again ignored every single time I have done so), I hear from Lauren or Emma that they will do something in the next couple of days and then I hear nothing after that. It is clear from other reviews below that they should not be in this business as they are far too slow. My transaction is straightforward as there is no chain on either side and I have already received a mortgage offer. I am in a rented property so every week of delay is costing me money. It has been 5 weeks since I paid them the upfront fees, 3 weeks since I sent them all the completed forms and notarised IDs, and they haven't even raised the queries yet – at this rate I will have paid far more rent than the higher cost of going to a normal high-street solicitors who would have completed the transaction by now. They may have been doing their job properly before, but it is clear they are currently unable to. Janine and her team are worse than useless from my experience and it sounds like other people have had the same experience. Avoid at all costs – it will cost you money, peace of mind and possibly even your transaction! I repeat, avoid at all costs!!

Review: Hard to get through to them on the phone. Took me nearly 2 hours with a number of attempt. Poor customer service, no communication, I was always chasing them. Cancelled my application in the end and they didn't challenge this even though it was over the 14 days cooling off period. They didn't even ask me why I was leaving. Waste of my time and energy.

Review: Just want to leave a review on the problems we have faced with watkins and gunn. We have rung them everyday for 5 days with no response and when you do get to speak to someonethey just put you back in the automated queuingsystem with eventually just goes to voicemail. We are 4 weeks into a conveyancingsale of a property and cannot speak to anyone or even get a update on where we are. Such is our distress we have now emailed watkins and gunn telling them we have now cancelled them and we are going to a more reliable firm as our experienceswith them are not even worthy of 1 star. I can only reccomend you do not use watkins and gunn if you like to be kept up to date and want the simple ability of speaking to a person in a suitable timeframe. 5 days is not suitable or helpful at such a stressful time as moving home. I would recommend to watkins and gunn that they employ more staff to cope or cease taking on new business until such a time that they can deliver a service to their clients.

Review: 1 star rating Respond Report abuse This is my real name and this is a genuine review as they will confirm. I had Janine Edwards and it was a horrible experience. She leaves direct contact to her young "property team" who gave me duff, stressful and inaccurate advice about stamp duty... then denied giving the advice when challenged. Ringing the team's direct line wasted me endless man hours as they either didn't answer or screened my number - which they deny... I got through first time on my wife's mobile, but maybe that was a coincidence. The final straw was when I was told I still needed to send ID when I know for a fact it was sent. When I pointed this out, I was told, "I am not a liar"... at which point Janine came on the phone - my only contact after I'd been promised it as a priority over a week earlier - and she acted like it was me that had the problem, informed me they all "worked hard" - as if I my complaint implied an accusation of otherwise, and essentially told me my business wasn't welcome. My mistake was to believe bottom feeders grubbing for cheap work on Moneysupermarket could handle a 28-day repo purchase. The guy overseeing the case was nice, apologised about not being able to receive draft contracts by email - he was surprised about this, and it's the main reason I lost the house. All's well that ends well... I got a better house cheaper in the end. Oh, and his advice was the same... get another solicitor. Paying an extra couple of hundred for someone competent and in direct contact constantly was the best money I ever spent. But I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend these guys to my worst enemy.
