Review: Based on personal experience and level of service received, Stenfield is by far the most unorganised, unhelpful, abrupt and unprofessional organisation/company I have ever dealt with. The lady that was dealing with us in particular goes by the name Joanne. It was a shocking experience, apparently she was only the office 2 days a week, and even when she was, the estate agents (who are also in agreement of how shambolic Stenfield solicitors services are) and my solicitor always failed in getting through to her. It was disgusting, at some point she stopped responding, we did not hear from her for 28 days because she felt the questions being asked by my solicitor was already answered. Then when we called her office to ask to speak to her, we were told she wasn’t available and no one could help. After enduring to work with her, my solicitor got in touch with an exchange date, she acknowledged the date and agreed to it. On the day we were supposed to exchange, she came out and said her client wasn’t ready to exchange as they haven’t got one of the documents signed by land registry, even though Joanne previously said all documents were ready for exchange and confirmed this in a written email to us. To no surprise, we were let down on date of exchange and left emotionally distraught after 6 months of dealing with her. A day after that, she tried to get us to exchange contract on condition the outstanding paperwork is sorted within 60 days, which means we would have had to depart with a 5% deposit and be bullied into purchasing the property regardless - we obviously said no and ran as fast as we could, we had enough at this stage. Please AVOID Stenfield, or at least avoid being assigned Joanne as your solicitor! I wouldn’t wish the experience we had on anyone/especially a first time buyer.
